چکیده

The stratum corneum, the most superficial layer of skin, protects body against environmental hazards and presents a highly selective barrier for passage drugs cosmetic products deeper into skin across skin. Nanomaterials can effectively increase permeation active molecules corneum enable their penetration layers, often by interacting with creating distinct sites elevated local concentration, acting as reservoirs. flux from these reservoirs be either limited to underlying layers (for topical drug cosmeceutical delivery) or extended all sublayers epidermis blood vessels dermis transdermal delivery). type nanocarrier physicochemical nature substance are among factors that determine final pattern stability penetrant in cutaneous environment. widely employed types nanomaterials dermal applications include solid lipid nanoparticles, nanovesicular carriers, microemulsions, nanoemulsions, polymeric nanoparticles. recent advances area nanomaterial-assisted delivery highlighted this review.

Recent Advances in Nanomaterials for Gene Delivery—A Review

With the rapid development of nanotechnology in the recent decade, novel DNA and RNA delivery systems for gene therapy have become available that can be used instead of viral vectors. These non-viral vectors can be made of a variety of materials, including inorganic nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, liposomes, protein and peptide-based nanoparticles, as well as nanoscale polymeric materials. The...

Ultrasound-enhanced transdermal delivery: recent advances and future challenges.

The skin is a formidable diffusion barrier that restricts passive diffusion to small (<500 Da) lipophilic molecules. Methods used to permeabilize this barrier for the purpose of drug delivery are maturing as an alternative to oral drug delivery and hypodermic injections. Ultrasound can reversibly and non-invasively permeabilize the diffusion barrier posed by the skin. This review discusses the ...

Recent Advances in Hemophilia Gene Therapy

Heterogeneous loss of function mutations at F8 and F9 genes causes X-linked recessive bleeding disorders, hemophilia A (HA) and hemophilia B (HB), respectively. HA is clinically indistinguishable from HB and accounts for more than 80% of hemophilia cases; the former affects 1/5000 and the latter 1/25000 male births worldwide. In Iran, it is estimated that around 4300 HA and 900 HB patients are ...
